We’re a fourth-generation textile family with one mission: to create moments of joy through comfortable things.
At Sunday Citizen, we strive to keep our production responsible, eco-friendly, and sustainable. We believe in playing our part in taking care of mother Earth, both throughout our lifetime and for the sake of future generations, and are constantly looking for opportunities to streamline our processes. Read on to learn more about some of our environmental initiatives (to help you sleep even easier at night).
Our signature Snug, Premium Bamboo, European Flax Linacel™ and Silky Lyocell fabrics are all OEKO-TEX® certified. This world-renowned certification confirms that these materials are 100% free of harmful chemicals, having been independently tested with strict global criteria.
Each and every one of our comforters includes a plush, recycled filling made from recycled PET plastic bottles - more comfort for you, and less plastic in our oceans. Now that’s what we call a win-win. So far, over 2.5 million plastic bottles have been recycled so far for our cozy comforters (and counting).
Our proprietary European Flax Linacel™ fabric blend features European Flax-certified linen. This is a internationally-recognized guarantee of traceability for premium flax fiber grown in Western Europe, produced in an environmentally-friendly manner without irrigation* and GMOs, and with low use of fertilizers and pesticides. It also guarantees zero waste of these fibers; all parts of the plant are used and valorized in the production of our linen.
Our focus is on fabrics that are both eco-friendly and satisfy our love for soft. Our Premium Bamboo, European Flax Linacel™ and Silky Lyocell collections exemplify this ethos; carefully crafted from sustainably-sourced fibers and natural materials, produced with minimal environmental impact, and with low water usage.
Our minimal packaging is made from recycled materials, designed to keep waste to a minimum and be easily reusable. We have also made the conscious decision to vacuum pack most of our products for shipping, thus occupying less transit space in order to decrease our carbon footprint.
